Great for 3D heli beginners to learn to fly outdoor and learn to do 3D as this one is very durable too. We had like 3 crashes during shooting this video but no repairs were needed. Except that one bad crash we replaced the tail prop only. Extreme durable, great main rotor head speed and very good stabilization system on this bird combined with new Devention 8 radio's easy programming, this thing pulls some sweet 3D. Nicole had the good camera and the lighting wasn't working out. Also sorry for the crappy flying. I'm an advanced beginner at best. I have to MCPX helis and one has this problem while the other doesn't. I have swapped just about every part on these machines and still can't rid of the problem on one. This has been the best fix to date. In the example, I have the high-speed "bullet" blades on, but it also works with the indoor blades. Horizon Hobby has a recall on the blade grips, and they are sending me two new sets, so we'll see if that resolves the issue. I hope this helps some people. I love this little heli. It's letting me get a lot of practice at night and when the weather is bad. Also, I can practice things like nose-in hovering without the fear of a wreck, like my other helis. You may not be able to see it in the video, but for those that are familiar, you can hear the sound when the heli starts to shudder. It usually happens around mid-stick or sometimes during FFF. For our regular viewers, think of this video as a little bonus.

An aerial test on the hexacopter of my new Crocolis HD "ExtremeCam"camera, It does 1080p 30 + 25fps @ 142 degree FOV and 720p 60/30/25fps @ 172 degree FOV. This quick test comparing 720p 30 + 60fps and 1080p 30fps (on highest quality setting) on a bright sunny day. No stabilization or filtering was used. My editor struggled with the sound during editing - not the camera. The camera weighs in at 190g including battery. It has a standard 1/4" screw mount plug many different mount supplied with it. The hexacopter mount was a quick diy throw-together using 1.5x25mm aluminium. The camera was mounted level (horizon in the middle) to best show the distortion. To me, there is less barrel-distortion than the standard Gopro HD. I think the Gopro handle fast moving / panning better.

They are rather expensive, so the manufacturers do not include them with your models. Syma 109 Apache Speed Mod video 2

0:32 is a decent video capture of the increased speed from this modification. The distance from the far end of the sofa to the top of the steps is 12 feet 4 inches. This is a second video that includes a nose dip crash that wasn't possible before the speed mod. If I had more room I could have saved the copter from the final crash right at the end. The nose will dip if you turn just right, at just the right speed. It's a relaxed turn, but it will speed you forward with hardly any throttle. It's a bit hard to see though at 1:24. Also has a nice comedy crash at 0:38. I've gotta remember the throttle tap for the turn at 0:06 seconds. That was accidental and cool. PASTED FROM THE FIRST VIDEO- This is a way to make your Syma S109 Apache pretty darned fast. Almost too fast for most small rooms. There are NO add ons or replacements at all here. It's all about removal. Basically take everything off that's not part of the main body. Use a pair of snippers or a razor and cut the fins on the tail off. Other parts can be removed with a small screwdriver. The plastic is very flexible, so the hard to get to screws can be removed. IMPORTANT MOD- Flybar/balance bar. I used a stone grinder to grind off much of the balance bar weight to prevent blade strike when going full reverse from full forward. Don't overheat the metal while grinding or the plastic will melt. Each weight has been reduced to 3/8 inch. Now it doesn't fall from the air as it's blades get chopped up. LEDs are gone for now ...

I demonstrate a simple PD controller on my vision-based helicopter control system. A ring of IR lights shine on three reflectors on the target. The computer tracks them and computes the helicopter's pose and position 120 x's a second. You can see the spots on the black window in the computer screen, and the estimated pose as the white heli on the blue screen (hard to see compressed). The computer then sends radio control signals and flies the heli. Here, it is trying to hover. The simple controller causes a lot of oscillation because the dynamics are "non-minimum phase." This means that it goes in the opposite direction from its command for a split second, then goes the way you told it. Motorcycles do the same thing. The simple controller is pretty confused, but it still works. I am working on better control algorithms that should fly it more smoothly.

I just got my 3ch Syma S010 RC Helicopter and this is my one of the first flights. The helicopter is really fun to fly. It has fairly precise controls. The need for trimming is minimal. One of the best helicopters I have flown so far. The only con is that the battery life is no more than 5 min, but the good thing is that it takes only about 15 min to recharge.

I think this is the culmination of my beginner phase. I bought two #11 808 Keychain Cameras because I was so thrilled from seeing all those FPV videos online. One camera for the bottom and another one for the tail boom. Shortly enough, I ran into the same vibration issues everyone stated in online forums. After some research I managed to fix my problems by adjusting my camera mounts, and seeing that so many people are still having issues I thought I made this video in case I could help anyone out.
